2. Community Standards & Conduct

Our platform connects local communities through hyper-local stories. To maintain a safe environment, all users agree to the following rules:

• Authenticity: Readers logging in via mobile OTP and reporters logging in via credentials must provide accurate registration details. Duplicate or ghost accounts to spam community forums are strictly prohibited.
• Interactive Polls & Quizzes: Attempting to manipulate poll results, run automated scripts to submit quiz answers, or bypass local state/city configuration locks is a breach of these terms.
• Prohibited Activities: Harassment, hate speech, posting defamatory content, or attempting to exploit API endpoints is grounds for immediate account suspension.

3. Content Licensing (For Reporters)

Reporters submit local stories, announcements, and news posts to keep their town informed. By contributing content to My Town News:

• Non-Exclusive License: You grant My Town News a worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual, non-exclusive license to host, display, distribute, modify, and archive your articles and uploaded media (images/videos) across our network.
• Authorship & Accountability: You represent that you own the rights to the text and photos you upload, and that the news is reported fairly and with fact-checked accuracy.
• Archival Standard: In alignment with journalism archiving practices, published news articles are kept for the community's historical reference. If you delete your account, your personal credentials will be wiped, but your news posts may remain credited to an anonymized contributor.

4. Disclaimers & Liability

My Town News distributes community journalism on an "as-is" and "as-available" basis:

• Editorial Accuracy: While we verify our certified reporters, views expressed in local stories belong to the respective authors and do not necessarily represent the opinions of My Town News administration.
• Technical Operation: We do not guarantee uninterrupted server uptime or complete freedom from minor software glitches.
